Locking out Spam and Viruses
press release

mailgate : how it works

How Does It Work?

Messages sent from the Internet to your company are first directed to the MailGateTM processing center. This is accomplished with a few simple configuration changes to your company's DNS setup which we coordinate with your e-mail administrator or ISP.

NOTE: We strongly suggest that your e-mail administrator configure your mailserver to only accept mail from our subnet, to keep people from bypassing the MailgateTM processing center by delivering directly to your mailserver's IP address.

When messages arrive at the processing center they are analyzed to see if they contain Viruses and measured for SPAMiness.

If MailGate detects a virus, or SPAM, MailGateTM will filter the message while forwarding all good email on to your company's email gateway.
